The Saugatuck Photographic Workshops are based in Saugatuck Michigan, a quaint village on the shores of Lake Michigan and its sister village, Douglas. Saugatuck has been described as a New England village dropped into Michigan.
Here you'll find forests, sand dunes, beaches, boating, galleries, restaurants, bars with bands, orchards and plenty more to enjoy whether you're traveling on foot, bicycle, car or boat. Stay a while in one of the many Bed & Breakfasts in town, on the river or on the shores of Lake Michigan.
By highway, we're within two hours of Chicago or Detroit, and only 45 minutes from the Gerald R Ford International Airport in Grand Rapids. Or come across the big lake on a modern hyrofoil ferry from Milwaukee or the historic steamship from Manitowoc, Wisconsin. There's an Amtrak station just 15 minutes to the North, making it an easy train ride from Toronto, Chicago or New York.
Visit the Saugatuck and Douglas Convention & Visitors Bureau web site for detailed information on the area and for accomodations in the Saugatuck/Douglas area for every budget.
