Instructor: James Cook

Join Jim for a hands on digital photography class to help you develop the knowledge, habits and best practices to improve your results and enjoyment of your Digital SLR.

This workshop starts with a classroom session to review the controls that a DSLR camera provides to control exposure and focus in order to get deliberate results. The classroom discussion includes composition, point of view, natural light, light color and a pre-shoot checklist.

At about 6:00, the classroom session ends and we break for an hour, allowing time for dinner on your own.

At 7:00 the workshop resumes with a field trip to Oval Beach to shoot until sunset. There under Jim's guidance and tutelage, participants have the opportunity to apply techniques covered in the classroom. Everyone is encouraged to pursue their own images of people, landscapes, plants, textures and the lake with Jim available as a mentor.

For this workshop you should know how to change the aperture and shutter speeds on your DSLR camera.

Be prepared to have fun and to leave inspired!
